Simrat Grewal

Founder

Founder of Royal - House of Bhangra, Simrat started dancing at a very young age. Performing at cultural shows, his passion for dancing led him to join the Rutgers University Bhangra team. Dedicated as a dancer, he ultimately became Captain. Simrat has performed at prestigious dance competitions across the United States and was a part of numerous independent bhangra teams. Some highlights of his dancing career include dancing with Joshiley Jawan, who won the Elite 8 Bhangra Competition in 2015 and a part of Anakh-E-Gabroo, an active bhangra team that has a rich history and has won trophies at countless competitions across the USA. He now wishes to translate that same passion to others with Royal.

Alisha Gurnani

Instructor

Alisha started dancing at a very young age and since then has been passionate about improving her skills and learning new forms of dance. While in high school she joined a bhangra group and quickly fell in love with the dance form. She continued to enjoy bhangra through college, where she joined the Rutgers Bhangra team and danced at various competitions with her teammates. During her senior year she became co-captain of the team, helping the team achieve new goals and leading the team to many different competitions. Currently she spends her free time learning and choreographing bhangra as well as other forms of dance with her friends.

Sahil Arora

Instructor

Sahil has a strong passion and keen interest for bhangra. Throughout his college career, he spent his free time learning, practicing, choreographing bhangra and helping the collegiate team reach new heights. As a member of the Rutgers University Bhangra Team, he has danced at many venues and assisted his team members at various competitions over the US. Currently, he spends his time outside of work making choreo with his old teammates.

Amanjot Dhillon

Instructor

Amanjot (aka Joti), joined the bhangra team at Rutgers University as freshman. Over the years her love for bhangra grew and she worked her way up to the role as Captain. Working currently as a Registered Nurse, Joti likes to dedicate her free time to dance and playing with her beautiful puppy. As a member of Royal, she wishes to help members of all ages find the same drive that helped her grow not only as a dancer, but as an individual as well.

Ridhi Parmar

Instructor

Ridhi found her passion for dancing at a young age and has been dancing for 15 years! She started off her dancing career by studying Bharatnatyam under guru Smt Sudha Devulapali at the age of 5. She progressed and joined Aatma Performing Arts and continued to learn various styles of dance under renown choreographers. At college, Ridhi joined Rutgers University Bhangra and eventually became Captain of the team. Her dedication and passion led her team to a number of trophies. Her passion for dance is unparalleled and wishes to pass that onto to others through Royal.

Soham Shukla

Instructor

Soham Shukla is originally from Flushing, Queens in New York. He's currently in his last year in the pharmacy program at Rutgers University, New Brunswick. Soham wants to work at a large pharmaceutical company in order to make patients can have access to life saving therapies at reasonable costs. In his free time, Soham loves to dance along to any kind of music, but his favorite is Bhangra! Bhangra has allowed him to perform in stages all around the nation including MetLife Stadium at IIFA Awards 2017, and an NBA basketball game! He hopes to share his knowledge and love for bhangra by mentoring all of the students at Royal House of Bhangra.
